From day one, the problem was clear – building owners were at legal risk, contracts were fulfilled on paper, but no one knew what was actually happening on site. Verified emerged to solve this challenge. It was built to reimagine how site visibility, performance, and risk should be managed, not just in theory, but in the practical realities of real-world field operations and workflows.

The Early Days – From Problem to Product
During the mid 2000’s, Glenn Talbot (Founder of Verified) was managing large national fire and safety service contracts throughout Australia. His major national clients expressed frustration that contractually, work was being completed on paper, but in practice there was no true visibility into what site work was being completed. Building Regulations continued to drop additional responsibility at the building owners feet with no practical way for them to comply.
Contractors came and went.
Records and evidence were not forthcoming.
The legal liability and risks kept growing.
The insight was simple: ticking boxes wasn’t enough. It was about knowing, proving, and owning what actually happened.
Glenn decided to create something different – a barcoded paper-based, site and service tracking system that resulted in true visibility. With registered logbooks, envelope tracking, and return audits, this was Verified’s earliest version giving clients full confidence in the face of growing operational risk.
Going From Fire Systems to Full-Site Visibility
During 2009 and 2015, the compliance landscape only got more demanding. Building owners were now being held legally and personally liable for risks, and the pressure to demonstrate exactly what, when, and how services were completed extended beyond building compliance.
What started with essential services was soon adapted for HVAC, water treatment, electrical compliance, and more. Whilst the services evolved, the solution remained the same: verifiable, auditable and independent data/proof for clients and their contractors. The original barcoded logbook model for complete compliance scaled quickly, with major national retailers starting to adopt it across thousands of sites.
Going Digital: Verified’s Platform Evolution
With the rise of mobile-first technology, Verified began its digital evolution in 2016. While others repackaged old desktop systems, Verified took a different path, building digital workflows from the ground up shaped by over a decade of in-field experience. Each digital workflow was designed to match how work actually happened on site with a focus on simplicity, security, and confidence in what gets done.

The result was something market leading and unique – an easy to use, digitised and centralised platform with real-time visibility and a single source of truth. It gave complete oversight to clients, connecting their contractors, technicians, and visitors across all their sites without the need for multiple systems or apps.
Over the next 5 years Verified expanded rapidly, adding new modules and capabilities to meet growing site demands:
- By 2016, Verified introduced their contractor Inductions module, making onboarding safer and more consistent. Digital Work Order integration was introduced for field-based job completion.
- In 2018, the Visitor Management module was launched, giving clients a simple, site-level view of everyone entering and exiting facilities.
- 2019 brought Worker Credentials, supporting more complex vendor onboarding and credential tracking at scale.
- In 2022, Verified released the Permit Requirements module, transforming critical site workflows and processes like hot works and confined space access into guided digital flows.
- By 2024, the platform integrated a full Learning Management System, closing the loop from induction to ongoing contractor and personnel training.
